Kim McDell Managing Director

After working in the accounting profession (ACA), Kim's boating and business interests led him into the marine industry in 1973. Since then Kim has led the Sea Nymph and McDell Marine team to achieve some remarkable successes with over 10,000 boats built to date. A keen sailor, he has two World Titles to his credit and extensive experience in both inshore and offshore sailing. Kim has served on the Board of various industry and sporting organizations including Yachting New Zealand and New Zealand Marine. Kim McDell

Bill Howlett General Manager

Bill worked as an engineer in both the manufacturing and construction industries before commencing what now spans a thirty five year career in the boatbuilding industry. He holds NZ Certifications in Mechanical and Production Engineering and joined Kim at Sea Nymph Boats in 1973 as Production Manager. Bill's experience in Process Design and Development has enabled him to lead a great team, to take many products successfully into production. He has served on a number of industry boards focussed on international business. Bill Howlett

Glyn Dickson Commercial Manager

Glyn has a marine industry background stretching back to 1993 when he was the Principal of a composite kayak manufacturing business. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and joined McDell Marine Limited in 1999 overseeing America's Cup Mast Mould Projects and then Toyota 28 Composite production. Glyn is currently in charge of Commercial and Product Management with responsibility for CAD and IT functions Glyn Dickson

Mike Dell Composites Manager

Mike joined McDell Marine in 2001 as Composites Manager. Mike has a long and varied career in composites stretching back 28 years with involvement in the design and manufacture of bathroom ware, automotive parts and CAA approved light aircraft components. Mike has lately been leading research and development of resin infusion techniques at McDell Marine, as well as spearheading specific initiatives incorporated into our LEAN Program. Mike Dell

Colin Wrightson Development Manager

Colin completed his boatbuilding apprenticeship in 1969 working alongside some of New Zealand's most renowned boatbuilders and designers of that era. He joined Kim in 1972, supervising the build of the popular runabouts of the day and then supervising various departments as the company evolved into building larger cruising craft and racing yachts. Colin's considerable experience across many aspects of the industry, particularly with regard to production techniques , together with his extensive sailing experience has him ideally placed to lead a great Development Team. Tim Roberts Joinery Co ordinator

In 1990 Tim completed his ships joinery apprenticeship at Her Majesty's New Zealand Dockyard. He then furthered his career building commercial shop, office , and domestic furniture. Tim Joined McDell Marine in 2000 and was appointed Shop Supervisor in 2001. He was promoted to Joinery Co-ordinator in 2007 and has developed CAD qualifications to take responsibility for introducing and coordinating CNC programs right across the joinery operation from design to completion. Mark Woodams Fit Out Manager

Mark Woodams completed his cabinet maker/machinist apprenticeship to Advanced Trade Certificate level in 1980. He has specialist skills in traditional woodcarving and reproduction antique furniture, and has spent a number of years in designing and manufacturing top quality office and shop furniture. Mark joined McDell Marine in 2001. He was appointed Fit Out Team Leader in 2003 and promoted to Fit Out Manager in 2008. His specialty is detailed design and planning for scheduling to 'accurate completion' times. Mark Woodams
